Who says Valentine’s Day has to be all lace and ruffles? While I am all for the girly-girly colors and clothes that come up this time of the month, I definitely need some edge to spice things up. With another combo, velvet and leather, you can be just as festive but a bit less traditional and more edgy. This Valentine’s Day, I’ll most likely be having a Galentine’s Day with some of my girlfriends, but this outfit could work for either date night with a special someone or a night out with the girls! I’ve put together some variations of this trend below for some serious Valentine’s Day Outfit inspiration. Why not try something new this year?
Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas:
1. Leather Skirt + Velvet Top: As seen above. I paired these to items together with a pair of black sock booties to create a fun going out look. I love mixing textures to add dimension to outfits, and anything with velvet does just that. Since most of you don’t live in LA and can’t wear bare legs in the winter, definitely add some sheer black tights to this or maybe some with a fun print to keep warm!
2. Velvet Skirt + Sweater: I wore this outfit over the holidays, but I think it could definitely be repeated for this holiday! It’s still pretty chilly in most places, so a sweater like this bell sleeve one will definitely come in handy for a night out.
3. Velvet Dress: I love the idea of a simple and elegant velvet dress, like this one from Urban Outfitters. Carrying this trend over from the holidays is a great way to re-use some items you may not have gotten enough use out of. There are different color variations of this dress too, like this mustard number from Free People. The different color variations definitely keep this trend fresh.
What are you all doing for Valentine’s Day? I hope you are spending some time with the one(s) you love and making them feel extra special.
