Indigo dye is everywhere lately. Frankly, it’s been a thing for a while now in the interior design space, as seen on everything from mudcloth pillows to tapestries. I didn’t think it would make an appearance in the fashion world, until now. I’m seeing the dye on swimsuits, dresses, and tops, like this the one I chose from Margaret O’Leary. I’m loving the laid-back bohemian vibe that this print has; it’s almost like we are being brought back in time to the 70’s. Sometimes I think I was meant to be born then… 🙂
Leave it to Margaret O’Leary to jump on this trend. Based in San Francisco, Margaret O’Leary has a fantastic way of designing high-quality clothing through an artistic lens, which is why I love this brand and keep coming back to it again and again. I love the anything goes (still has to be classy and chic) vibe and creativity that comes out in the details of this brand. From the etched out seashell label on each of the pieces of clothing to the type of fabric the brand uses, the beauty is in the details for me.
Being naturally bohemian, I loved when Margaret O’Leary jumped on the indigo dye trend. It just made sense: a California-chic aesthetic, with just a hint of Margaret’s native Ireland mixed with a bohemian fabric. Total perfection. I’m definitely jumping on the indigo dye trend in other areas of fashion as well, including the swimsuits mentioned earlier, and perhaps a dyed chambray or beach cover-up? Who knows where we will see this next, but until then you can catch me channeling my inner 70’s child with my circular Ray-bans, ripped high-waisted jeans, and this Margaret O’Leary top.
