While I’m not a big believer in signing up for anything that requires a monthly subscription since those expenses can add up really quickly… I am starting to warm up to subscription boxes that have recently become popular. I love Rocksbox, Birchbox, Bootay Bog, Splendies, and more- all of which I have tried out at some point. Oh and I can’t forget those FitFabFun boxes with full size items, which I haven’t tried out but they really do look like fun. One subscription box that I haven’t tried out yet is The Ms. Collection for clothing… Until now.
I tried out The Ms. Collection, which is an unlimited clothing rental service that picks out pieces of clothing for you, allows you to wear the clothes as long as you want, and then you can keep what you love or return whatever you would like! This subscription service is a bit different than others like Le Tote and Stitch Fix because it is highly curated. I received some fantastic items from brands like Michael Stars and ASTR, both of which I am a huge fan of. You can also leave feedback to your stylist who can push your style even further to try pieces you might not have before.
I received a skirt from ASTR, a dress from English Factory, an open-shoulder turtleneck from 1.STATE (sold at Nordstrom) and a Michael Stars maxi dress. I was amazed at how much my stylist got my style just from looking at my blog and Instagram, but these are pieces that I would have picked out myself at the store had a gotten the chance. I styled the ASTR skirt with the turtleneck and my lace up wedges for a city-chic look that could easily be taken from day to night. For a more work appropriate look, I styled the black dress with snakeskin Zara slides that I purchased a while back. And finally, I paired the Michael Stars maxi with a jean jacket, a western-style belt and some Chelsea boots. It’s fun to mix these pieces with items from your own closet to make them more your style.
Overall, if you are on a budget but like expensive items and/or just want to keep up on trends, then a box like this is for you. My advice is to try it out and see how you like it, especially if there are no strings attached!
On another note, my mom is coming in to town for a week starting today so be sure to follow along on my Snapchat (bohemianbybay) and Instagram Stories for updates 🙂
